Install Apache On Windows 7

Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges, please see following image for more information. A right click on Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator.

Now run following command

msiexec /i httpd-2.2.25-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi

Run msiexec command

now press Enter Key from Keyboard, installation wizard will appear, click Next to continue

Accept the license agreement and click Next.

Read, Read This First if you wish, and click Next to continue.

Server Details

Now, You will need to enter Server Details:

Network Domain: Server
Name: Administrator's
Email Address:

Leave the install setting as for All Users, on Port 80, as a Service and It should look like above image

Now click Next button to continue, so below image will come

Leave the Setup Type as Typical and click Next button to continue:

Leave the Destination Folder as the default (C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2) and click Next button to Continue:

Now Click on Install button, so installation procedure start as next two images

After the installation has finished you will see the Installation Wizard Completed window, click Finish button:

You now have a new icon in your system tray that looks like the Apache feather with a white circle and a green arrow in it (see following images below). This is the Open Apache Monitor and we'll use it to stop and start Apache

Right click on system tray icon and click on Open Apache Monitor, see following two images, you can do start, restart and stop services.

Just click on system tray icon, you can easily do start and stop services.

You can also do start, stop and restart services from Open Services option, Right click on system tray icon and click on Open Services,

Windows System Local Services dialog will open and you can see Apache 2.2 service

if you double click on Apache 2.2, following screen will come

If you have green system tray Apache icon then Apache is running. To demonstrate this open up your web browser and go to http://localhost/. The 'It works!' message will greet you:
